We got a Dog

After a attempted break-in while we were home. A brake-in that resulted in the intruder firing off a few rounds when I confronted him. I decided it was time to invest in a dog as additional security to protect my family when I am away.

This incident happened about 1230 at night, shortly after I returned home from work. I could have easily been delayed at work and who knows how that would have played out if I was not home. So, I got a dog as a new new member to my family. A dog who can alert my family to possible threats while giving threats a reason to think twice and who may even attack a intruder, protecting my family if needed.

Of course there’s no guarantee a dog would attack. I’ve seen videos where people test their dogs with strangers who walk i to their home. However, if all he does is act as an alarm and intimidate some, he is worth it.

There’s one other reason, my son. He was bit by our neighbors dog and ended up afraid of dogs. It is my hope that this dog will help alleviate his fear of them, have to mention become his friend.

So, let me introduce our new dog that Elijah has named Blaze.

The dog is a German Shepherd who is really friendly around Elijah which is already been helping to alleviate Elijah fear. You can tell from the photos, that Elijah is still a little nervous and uncomfortable around Blaze, but I suspect that will go away shortly.

Sparta bit me yet again.

Well Sparta, my snake has bit me yet again. Sparta gets really excited when it is time to eat, and well she got a little ahead of herself and get my thumb, thinking it was food. This was my fault as it could have been prevented. So I do not blame her.

The good part is. She is still small, and her bites do not hurt at all. The bad part is she still growing. And this will probably become a problem later on in her teeth to puncture my skin and she can produce more pressure in her jaw to cause pain.
